The Arc of Fort Bend County is a privately funded, non-profit organization which recieves no state or federal funding.  In order to provide programs and services to support individuals with intellectual and related developmental disabilities and their families, fund raising events are necessary.  The annual Golf Classic is one of two primary fund raising activities each year.

At the 2009 Golf Classic, all in attendance at Weston Lakes Country Club enjoyed a day of fun.  Players began registering by 10:30 AM, follwed by a box lunch provided by Five Star Food Services and a Shot Gun start at 11:30 AM. There were contests for all the golfers including the Hole-in-One vehicle, once again sponsored by Helfman Ford. Last year it was a 2009 Ford F-150! When the golfing was over, golfers and guests enjoyed a barbecue dinner hosted by Republic Services Inc. and the award winning “Yeah-IDo” cooking team, which was followed by a Live Auction that began at 5:00 PM. Even non-golfers came to bid on the fantastic trips, sporting packages, outings, and the unique items contained in this year’s packages.
