Self Advocates of Fort Bend County

The Advocates of Fort Bend County are individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are learning to advocate for themselves. Monthly meetings draw over 40 clients and are held at the Sugar Land Training Center located at 1005 Industrial Blvd. the first Thursday of every month. Be sure to check calendar for next scheduled meeting. Program topics include leadership skills, job skills, self-determination, and independence.

Becoming a member of The Arc of Fort Bend County is required to participate in the Self Advocates Program. Membership dues for a Self Advocate are $10 a year. Scholarships may be available if needed. An annual conference of advocates in Texas is held during the summer and club accomplishments as well as individual successes are acknowledged. Please contact Nancy Dobert at 281-494-5926 or by e-mail at nndobert@arcoffortbend.org.
