Overview

The Arc is important to families of Fort Bend County because, not only do we provide direct services, but we also provide information to parents about organizations that will help support their children right here in Fort Bend County.  Many parents do not know where to go for help.  Because The Arc is a membership organization, we provide the networking opportunity for parents so that they can help support one another with the daily challenges of raising a child with a disability.  The Arc has many diverse services which improve the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities and provides a base of support for their families.

The Arc provides information and referral services.  Our knowledgeable staff can discuss a variety of issues with families or refer you to more appropriate sources. We facilitate informational meetings to explore timely topics and provide one-on-one support.  We can guide you through our office brochures and website where we maintain hundreds of information resources.

The Arc provides an Educational Advocate on staff to educate parents and assist them with Admission, Review or Dismissal ( ARD) meeting at their schools.  What can The Arc do for you?

We also provide an Employment Specialist on staff to assist with securing and maintaining employment.

We own homes in Fort Bend County and lease them at below-market rates to qualified providers who staff them as group homes and help those living in them with their special needs.

We lease  Commercial Properties at below market rates, to providers who provide Learning Centers at these locations.
